- Q. Is there any kind of music that is halal. I have heard that using percussion instruments is considered halal. Although this is quite a contentious issue, but still I would say that I have personally reaped some spiritual benefits after I quit listening music as far as possible.

- Q. I have a question regarding taxi cabs in Chicago. Is it allowable to tranport drunk passengers? Let me explain you the situation here: During morning shifts(5Am to 5PM) the passengers are mostly those going to office, airport or shopping malls. But during evening shifts, customers are mostly going to Bars/Pubs/strip clubs. There are certain streets which have bars one after the other. Going on those streets means you are going near bars. Also cabbies line up outside famous bars/pubs. If you want to avoid these customers you have to take small streets where you are almost certain of not getting any customers. Then to pick up customers you have to go to office areas which will be very far. After 11PM there is hardly anyone else on the streets other than drunk revelers. Another issue you can consider is that if anyone is trying to flag you down, you cannot refuse them. But that is just a rule and can be conveniently broken. In short avoiding bar areas is feasible but you make 1/3rd of what other people make.

- Q. I am working in an eyebank. We have registered 2373 patients for corneal transplantation of which 20-25% are Muslims. The damaged cornea is replaced by a healthy cornea from donated eyes. There is no other substitute for donor tissue. If not cured the person will remain blind and in some cases eyes are required to be eviscerated or enucleated. Is it lawful for needy Muslims to undergo Corneal transplantation as corneas are derived from donated eyes?

- Q. I am a strict follower of deoband thinking . I am having a daughter which is just 1 and half years old and is suffering from Thallasemia disease( in which every month blood has to be given to child) . The cause of this as explained to us by the doctors is due to parents. till today there is no proper cure for this disease and it looks like artificial life of the child. meaning go on giving blood every month to keep her alive. Now my wife is pregnant and we are expecting a second child , the doctors say that there is a test which can be done at the early stage of pregnancy in which we can come the know whether the child in the womb of the mother will be having a disease or not. supposes(nauzubillah) if the child is also having the same problem, then can we get the child aborted or not .Because if the second child is also having the same problem of blood then you can imagine how difficult the life will be for the parents to get blood every month for their child and it looks like a total artificial life of children. please advice me soon as i have to take a decision urgently . Allah given you'll plenty of jazai khair

- Q. I am a lecturer,I forgot my mobile at teacher table in class, the next teacher took it and told me that she will give me this mobile back after taking a fine of 500 Rupees or a party(drinking, eating). I told her that if I will give u a party, it will Haraam for you.she did not give mobile me back. After 2 days I took her mobile from her purse, so that I can get my own mobile from her.I asked her to give my mobile back and to take her from me. She put a complaint against me and said that I am a thief. Now plz guide me; 1. what sharia says about her doing when she took my mobile and did not give it me back? 2. Is it right for her to keep my mobile and take a prty, should I gave her a party? 3. If I give her party, without my happiness, just to take my mobile back, will it be Halaal for her or Haraam? 4.When after waiting 2 days, she did not give my mobile back, and I took her mobile from her purse, what is the order of sharia about me,? what is "KAFFAARA" I will have to pay if I am guilty? 5. - Q. Allah has made me a software engineer by profession.Currently working in a reputed software company in India. I want to leave this company and start my own work as I do not feel my Iman each time so strong that I may be able to violate the cultures of the company which are not according to sharia like wearing pent shirt, Answering greetings of Na Maharam. Also things like the mendatory insurance component in the salary which I do not want to subscribe for, still deducted from my salary. In short these and some other things inspire me to start my own job.My parents have taken loan from bank. The loan includes interest terms also..Allah helps them to repay the loan via me.(However I am not the only source but Allah has made me as a major contributor towards repayment of the loan). Is this okay If I ask My parents to give me few months (2-3) to collect money by the salary instead of giving them and made investment in new work? However I have talked already to my parents about it that this new work may require some investment of a good portion of 2-3 months salary and they have given there consent. So the first question is what is better?Should I continue to work in the company and made small investments towards the own work (Which I feel a long process). Or go with the instant investment by putting the portion of salary towards new job which Allah gives currently to my parents via me.Ofcaurse success will be there only if Allah wills. My second question is regarding the new work I wants to start. InshaAllah it will be website based work initially. The plan is to provide a internet based facility to people where people can learn by there and other people's learnings. Learning means any learning what people may put on the website.Hence this learning can be according to sharia and opposite to sharia also. Like one people my place his/her learning as "Speak truth even in tough situation" and another one may place his learning as "Alcohol is good for health".So people may read both wrong and right learnings also.In addition the learnings can be of any other type also like business learning etc. Its like an opinion of someone by his/her experience. So the second question is such service/website allowed. The third question is about charging the people who use this service. Someone may be allowed to pay amount(as a fees of using this website) if He/She feels that he/she has benefitted via this website. So its upto that "Somebody" whether he wants to pay for the use website or not. Is such earning halal,(Please let me know even if its halal but undesirable)? Also should I set a maximum amount which a person can pay if he/she wills to pay? Please consider the use of this website for business organizations also where it becomes obligatory chargable.
