Question: I need some tafseer books. Can you suggest which one to take. I also want some books written by qasim nanotvi saheb and also by ashraf ali thanvi saheb. Can you tell some of the good books which they has written. Please reply me soon.

(Fatwa: 232/B=273/B) Maariful Quran is the best and comprehensive Urdu tafseer, while Tafseer-e-Usmani is the best short Urdu tafseer; it is known as Tarjama Shaikhul Hind also. The books of Hazrat Nanotavi have been published in one volume. You may buy the set. His books are academic and philosophical. It is difficult for a non-Aalim to understand them. Hazrat Thanvi has written so many books, amongst which Bahishti Zewar, Hayatul Muslimin, Bawadirun Nawadir, Shariat-w-Tariqat, Al-Ifazatul Yaumiah and Dawat-e-Abdiyat may be useful for you to study.
