    (Fatwa: 98/95=B)

For a Hanafi it is compulsory to follow Hanafi Maslak and for a Shafei it is compulsory to follow Shafei Maslak, it is not allowed for one to switch to follow the other maslak.

    (2) Sarfaraz means: person with high head

    (3) Nowadays, when irreligiousness, lustfulness and self-willing prevails, if people are let free to choose any maslak they will follow their own desires, therefore it is necessary to follow one maslak only. Yes, in view of any difficult situation the scholars of Islam can unanimously decide to follow any particular masla of other maslak.

Taqleed is not done in the matters mentioned explicitly in the Quran or Hadith, but it is done only in issues that are derived from Quran and Hadith and about those which have different opinions of imams. In this case, we follow one opinion of an imam since we are not able to prefer one opinion on another due to not being mujtahid.
