Question: Can we trim our beard if our parents force us to trim it or remove it?

It is unlawful to trim the beard and keep it less than one fist. Hence if your parents are forcing you to trim the beard completely then it is not lawful for you to abide them. Say to them in clear words that Islam does not allow it.

عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم انكهو الشوارب واعفوا اللحى . (البخاري ، رقم : 3985) أما الأخذ منها وهي دون ذلك كما يفعله بعض المغاربة ومختنثة الرجال ، فلم يبحه أحد . (ردالمحتار: 3/398، مطلب في الأخذمن اللحية ، زكريا ، ديوبند ، فتح القدير: 2/348 ، كتاب الصوم باب ما يوجب القضاء ، ط: دارالفكر ، بيروت) قال الكشميري : أما تقصير اللحية بحيث تصير قصيرةً من القبضة ، فغير جائز في المذاهب الأربعة . (العرف الشذي: 4/162، باب ما جاء في تقليم الأظفار ، ط: دارالفكر ، بيروت).
