Title: CAN I PAY HOUSE TAX ALONG WITH PENALTY WITH MY BANK INTEREST AMOUNT

Question: I have not paid my house tax for 2 years so municipality dept put the huge penalty. So can I pay my house tax along with penalty with my bank interest amount?

(Fatwa: 580/490/B=05/1440)

You should pay house tax (the tax that is levied against municipality facilities) with your pure income. However, land tax and penalty money may be paid with interest money.

Q. As salaamu alaykum Mufti Saheb, I have a query and hope you would be able to clarify the rule as per shariah.
