Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !
(Fatwa: 184/166/D=01/1435) The sunnah method of entering the house - whether it is one’s own house or others – is that first one should seek permission. For permission, any proper method can be adopted, but it is better to greet with salam. One should enter into the house after getting permission and then should recite the dua mentioned in the question, and then one should greet salam to the people inside. It is mentioned in the book:عمل اليوم والليلة: عن أبى مالك الأشعري قال، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: إذا ولج الرجل بيته، فليقل: اللهم إني أسئلك خير المولج ....... ثم ليسلم على أهله (رقم 5096) The sunnah method of going out of the home is that first the family should be greeted and the following dua should be recited: بسم الله توكلت على الله ، لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله (ترمذى) It is mentioned in Jame Muammar ibn Rashid: إذا دخلتم بيتاً فسلموا على أهله وإذا خرجتم فأودعوا أهله السلام ، (باب التسلم إذا خرج من بيت) If the family is busy in watching TV or listening to the music then too salam should be done so that their attention is drawn from the sin though only for awhile. In spite thorough search, we could not find the durood, three Quls and the dua while going out of home. If you have read it somewhere please write complete reference, then we could have a say about it.
