Question: (1) In inheritance what are the shares of the following: one wife, two sons and three girls. (2) In inheritance what are the shares of the following: one wife, three sons and three girls.

(Fatwa: 1352/1338/N=11/1434) (1) If only the above mentioned persons are the Shariah heirs of the deceased person then the inheritance shall be divided into 8 shares after paying due rights preceding inheritance. Out of total 1 share shall go to the wife, 2-2 shares to each son while 1-1 share shall go to each daughter. The detail of Shariah division is as follows: Details: Wife: 1x1=1 Son: 2x2=4 Daughters: 3x1=3 Total: 8 (2) In this case the inheritance shall be divided into 72 shares. Out of which the wife shall get 9 shares, 14-14 shares shall go to each son while 7-7 shares to each daughter. The detail of division is as follows: Details: Wife: 1x09=09 Son: 2x14=28 Daughters: 3x07=21 Total: 72
