Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !
(Fatwa: 528/L=284/TL=1433) (1) As it is better for women to offer salah at their homes in their native places, in the same way in Makkah and Madinah it is also better for women to offer salah alone at home without jamah. And the reward which a woman gets in offering salah in Haram and Masjid Nabwi they get the same reward on offering at their rooms. In this case women should offer salah in their rooms in Makkah and Madina. The holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said to Hadhrat Umm Hamid that it is better for you to offer salah in your room than offering it in my mosque. The hadith is as follows: عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال لها قد علمت انك تحبين الصلوة معى وصلوتك فى بيتك خير من صلوتك فى حجرتك وصلوتك في حجرتك خير من صلوتك في دارك وصلوتك في دارك خير من صلوتك في مسجد قوملك وصلوتك في مسجد قومك خير من صلوتك في مسجدى (رسالة صلوة الصالحات ص: 17، مكتبه دارالعلوم) (2) It is mustahab and rewardable for women to offer salam at the holy grave of the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) provided it does not cause any harm: وهل تستحب زيارة قبره صلى الله عليه وسلم للنساء الصحيح نعم بلا كراهة بشروطها على ما صرح به بعض العلماء . اما على الاصح من مذهبنا وهو قول الكرخي وغيره من ان الرخصة في زيارة القبور ثابتة للرجال والنساء جميعا فلا اشكال شامى زكريا (ص: 57، ج:4) (3) It is makrooh and forbidden to kiss the Hajr Aswad (Black Stone) in crowd jostling each other for male and female. Since kissing it is sunnah and harming people is forbidden. Also it is another sin to enter in the crowd for both the women and men. Hence in case of crowd one should point towards the Hajr Aswad with hand or stick saying takbir and then kiss the hand or stick. However, when there is no rush then the woman too can kiss the Hajr Aswad.
