- Q. Assalam O Alaikum, This is regarding my previous question (Fatwa ID 13871). My earlier question was whether it is allowed or not to use illegal water and electricity in a Masjid. Illegal means theft of electricity and water. you answered that it is a sinful act. Now my further question is whether it is allowed for us (muqtadis) to offer the prayer in such place of worship where the water and electricity used is illegal. Please reply us soon. We muqtadis are unable to pay bills for water and electricity because here Mutawalli is a very corrupt man. He sells electricity to the tenants from the Masjid. And these tenants use heaters and other appliances very carelessly.

- Q. AssalamAlaikum Respected Mufti Saab, Since the construction of our masjid ten years ago, the qibla was assumed to be exactly eastwards i.e 90 degrees clockwise. (using a standard 360 degree rotation) Using more accurate and reliable calculations, we have calculated the qibla again and it is in fact 66.52 degrees clockwise. It means therefore that our present qibla direction is off by approximately 23.48 degrees to the actual qibla. Is this amount of variation allowed? What should we do henceforth? An urgant reply will be most appreciated as this issue is of utmost importance to our entire community. JazakAllah.
