- Q. we have masjid a/c in one bank and baitul mal a/c is another bank. in masjid a/c we have shops deposit amoutn and masjid income like (monthly subscriptions and shops rents) every 6 months we get interest. so we transfer the interest amoutn to baitul mal a/c. my question is can we transfer interest amoutn to baitul mal a/c or can we construct toilets in majsid premiss or can we paid interest amount to municipal property tax for shops. or can we use this interest amount for legal matters. my another question is Baitul mal is a halal amoutn like (Zakat and Fitr) can we mix the interest amoutn in that. because if we move the interest amoutn in to baitul mal a/c again after 6 month we get interest on (baitul mal a/c ). is it permissible ? if not can we create a fresh a/c in that only interest amout we deposit and we use needy people according to the situation. one more questions is Where do we use this interest amoutn can u please mail briefly so that we can follow inshallah.

My cousin Brother works for ICICI Prudential Life insurance company as Unit Manager, he deals with policies where customer has to pay 1500 per month and after three years the company would give 75,000 instead of 54,000 that is paid as premiums. Is this dealing comes under Riba(Interest) based? If so who will Allah hold responsible for in Aakhirath?--Cutomer or The person from the BANK. Am very much worried if this is Intererst based transaction, because my cousin brother has involed allmost all our Khandaan and can say more than hundred people(Except my Family-though he tried, but was not successful) in these policies. 2.I am very much confused what RIBA(INTEREST) actuall is in Islam? What are its types? - Q. I am a salaried person and company deducts income tax from our salary and pays it to the goverment. We have to submit a income tax certificate, which company gives us at the end of every financial year, to the goverment. I worked for two companies during April,2005 to March,2006 and I forgot to submit income tax certificate for the first company, althogh my company had deducted income tax from my salary and paid to indian government. I recived a notice from income tax department stating that I had to produce certificate of the first company within 7 days.Although I was late to produce it, but income tax official was demanding money as bribe to accept it and do necessary correction. Initially he was demanding Rs 10,000/- but later on Rs 5,000 was settled. Please let me know whether I can pay this bribe from haram money e.g. bank interest or there is any other way to do it.

- Q. Dear Mufti sahib! my father deposited some money in the bank in 1997/98, at that time he doesn't know much about the interest, later on in 2008 he realized that extra money that bank will give to him is interest. so he decided to give the money to the deserved peoples. but my father died in august last year. i want to know. (1): that all the money of interest will be given to the deserved onces. or we are also able to keep some money of interest. because at the time of the deposit the value of the money was much greater than it is now. (2): if we are not able to keep the money, then to whom it may be given. (3): can we give it to our poor relatives, if they also know that the money we giving to them is the money of interest.

- Q. Dear Ulama Ikram,Assalamualaikkum. I'm a lecturer in a government aided college.Recently the state government has released UGC [University Grants commision ] arrears due to me since 1996.Of this a substantial portion is stated to be interest for the accumulated amount. Some six months back my father met with a near fatal accident, but with allah's grace is recovering now. The medical expenditure was huge and well beyond my current means and was met from borrowings from friends and loans from banks. Can I utilise this interest amount from the UGC arrears to defray the medical expenditure incurred for reasons that (i) I'm still indebted to my friends and am yet to repay them? (ii)The income tax that I have paid and will be paying this financial year is greater than the UGC arrear intrest paid to me by the government? I'm in a confused state. Enlighten me and pray that allah gives me the thoufeeq to follow his laws in letter and sprit at any cost. Jazzakallahu Khair.
