Title: Can Zakaah be given to a person for doing Hifz

Question: I wanted to check about sponsoring a kid for Hifz from start to finish. Can I do it from my yearly zakah?

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 245/191/D=03/1437) If the child is poor and so are his parents and eligible for zakah then zakah amount may be given to such a child. Further if this child is doing Hifz Quran or receiving religious education then you shall get the reward of propagating Islam and protecting religion as well.
