Title: Namaz qasr or full

Question: My sister’s birth place is Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. She married to a person belonging to Sitapur. Now both are working in Lucknow and living in Lucknow on rented house. Distance between Mirzapur to Sitapur is 490 km & Mirzapur to Lucknow is 400 km & Lucknow to Sitapur is 90 km. For living less than 14 days in Mirzapur or Lucknow or Sitapur where will be full salah and where Qasr.

(Fatwa: 39/18/SD=01/1436) After marriage, when the girl makes intention to live at her husband’s home permanently then her mother’s home is no more her native place rather her in-laws home where she lives with her husband permanently becomes her native place. Hence in the question mentioned above, your sister shall offer qasr salah in Mirzapur her birth place, as well as in Lucknow as they have not made it their native place hence they shall offer qasr salah there as well. ويبطل الوطن الأصلي بمثله لا السفر ووطن الإقامة بمثله والسفر والأصلي لأن الشيئ يبطل بما هو مثله لا بما هو دونه فلا يصلح مبطلا له ..............والوطن الأصلي: هو وطن الإنسان فى بلدته أو بلدةٍ أخرى اتخذها داراً وتوطن بها مع أهله وولده وليس من قصده الارتحال عنها بل التعيش بها وهذا الوطن يبطل بمثله لا غير (البحرالرائق 2/239 ط: زكريا ديوبند) من جاوز بيوت مصره مريداً سيراً وسطاً ثلاثة أيام فى بر أو بحر أو جبل قصر الفرض الرباعي.
