(Fatwa: 289/289=M/1429)

To marry widow, mother of two children, is not impermissible in Shariah. And if you are mature, parents have no right to force you to get married on their choice. However, disobeying parents for no reason is a sin. Parents wish their children better, they will not suggest you a wrong proposal. You must obey your parents and should do Istikhara in this regard.

I am 23 years of age, about 13 or 14 years ago my mother had told my Aunt (mother's younger sister) that she(my mother) would do marriage of me with her(Aunt's) daughter, and since the time this came to know me (7-8 years before) I have been refusing time and time again.
