Title: Food

Question: I want to know that whether I can take the food described below or not. Whenever I go outside I need to take lunch in hotel and most of them are Hindu hotel. Most of the time, in hotel, they make chicken biryani, egg biryani and veg. biryani. Since its Hindu hotel, so we cannot expect halal chicken. So, I just do not take it and finally I have only the option of other biryanis. Here the problem is that they use the same pan, spoon curry for Chicken biryani in other two also. So my question is that can I take that veg. /egg biryani or not. I am eagerly waiting for your kind reply.

(Fatwa: 202/199/N=02/1435) If the hotels owned by non-Muslims use the same pan and spoon (which they already used for chicken biryani) for egg biryani and veg biryani after washing – and most probably they are doing so – then you may eat egg biryani and veg biryani at such hotels, it is allowable. You should not get much suspicious. However, it is better to go to any Muslim hotel instead.
