Question: I have a new born baby. He was born on 17 November 2013, Can I keep the name Muawiz. If it is ok, please tell me the meaning and spelling.

(Fatwa: 80/80/M=01/1435) You can keep his name as ‘Muawwiz’ (معوذ), it is good name. It was the name of a Sahabi. It means: one who gives refuge.
