Title: Combining intention of fardh and nafl in prayers

Question: Is it permissible to combine intention of a fardh prayer with nafl prayer? For example, combining the intention of the 2 fardh rakahs of Fajr with 2 rakahs of tahiyatul masjid, or praying qaza prayers at night and combine their intention with the intention of tahajjud? I have asked four reliable sources about this but got different answers. The ones that say that it is permissible is: (1) A mufti in my madrasa (that teaches according to the classical nizami system). (2) Sunnipath http://qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view.asp?HD=1&ID=14463&CATE=239 The ones that say that it is not permissible is: (1) Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari. (2) Darul Ifta Birmingham http://daruliftabirmingham.co.uk/can-a-woman-offer-prayer-in-shirt-combining-intentions-in-prayers Darul Uloom Deoband is the institution which I respect the most, so I therefore ask from you for a decisive answer to the question. Also, do you know the reason why the other sources give different answers?

    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 53/74/D=1434) Fardh salah is in itself permanent, definite intention is necessary for the validation of fardh salah. Faraidh shall not be complete if combined with any other salah. If someone makes intention of nafl along with fardh salah then only fardh shall be valid and the intention of nafl shall be invalid. Yes, there are some nafl salah if someone cannot offer them then whatever salah is performed at that time (whether fardh or nafl) will suffice for it i.e. tahiyatul Masjid and two rakah of Ihram: وتحية المسجد وينوب عنها كل صلاة إداها عندالدخول وقيل بعد العقود وركعتاالإحرام كذلك ينوب عنها كل صلاة فرضا كانت أو نفلاً (الاشباه والنظائر لابن نجيم 37 بيروت)
