Question: I have chosen my son's name as NEHAN. I want to know whether this name is correct. And what is the meaning of this name?

(Fatwa: 1608/1242/B=1433) We Muslims should choose Arabic names for our children as it is better. If the name is after the names of Prophets and Sahaba then it is far better. We could not find the exact word Nehan in any dictionary; however we could find the word Neha which means love and affection. And Nehai means one who loves. It is not the word of Urdu, Arabic or Persian, rather it is Hindi. You should consult any Hindi expert he can tell you better.
