Question: A Person gave talaq to his wife by saying three times TALAK TALAK TALAK and there were only husband and wife and no one else to hear. Is it done I mean is this the right way to give talaq to the partner or there is some other ways?

(Fatwa: 1175/742/L=1433) In the case mentioned above, three talaqs took place on his wife surely and the wife became mughallazah baina (irrevocably divorced) and haram for her husband. There is no need of witness to be present for the occurrence of talaq. قال فى الفتاوى البزازية : طلقها بين يدى أخى أو بحضرة الشهور فطلقها بلا حضورهما وذكر الحضور مشورة (فتاوي بزازيه على هامش الهندية : 4/184)
