    Title: Loans

Question: if we had taken some loans which we do not remember or we are unable to find the person, can we give charity that much. A new mobile company had come in the market. Many years back we had taken a mobile which a man was selling a SIM card where we can make unlimited calls and had to pay no bills. We used that card so much without paying. One day we got a bill of 32000. We never paid. And now we do not know where to pay. It has been 6 years. We do not know even that number as well, nothing at all. But I thought in such case, where I cannot pay these charges. Can I give charity equal to that amount? Since we did use it because that was done with default, now I repent doing wrong things. I want to pay off but cannot, since they cannot make payments these are void and closed account.

    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 308/116/L=1433) First make an effort to find out that company and pay back the amount to that company. However if you fail you should give such amount from company to some poor and needy ones.
