    Title: Many companies who had been traditionally providing health care to their employees directly have now been shifting to medical insurance companies, whereby a lump sum amount is given to insurer annually regardless of actual medical expense, and in return, employee avail the medical facility through insurance company. Is it permissible for employee to avail medical facility through this arrangemet. Please note that the empployee has nothing to do with this arrangement.

    As mentioned above, giving money to the companies for medical insurance and receiving medical facilities in return is impermissible; since it contains gambling which has been declared haram by the Quran:

    يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالأنْصَابُ وَالأزْلامُ رِجْسٌ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

    One can only take the amount he deposited, not the annual profit.
