Title: Assalam-u-alykum, I want to start the advertising company. The company operation is like this, The people who want to have advertisement through my company contact me. I have my contract to the various Autoriksha owners. I made advertisement on the autoriksha.For these tasks; I charge to the people those advertise through me and paid some portion of this amount to the autoriksha owners & rest money I take. Many times there are people?s photos (man/women/children) in the advertisement poster. Is it lawful by shariat? 1. If these poster are design by me (on the demand of the person who?s this advertise is) and then I past them on the autoriksha? 2. If these poster are designed by me (on my liking only) and then I past them on the autoriksha? 3. If these posters are designed by the person who?s this advertise is (having the photo of women/men/children) & then supplied to me & I only past them on the autoriksha?

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 1530/1253=D/1430)

The above-mentioned, advertising dealing is alright i.e. the service charge you save for yourself is halal for you provided it does not involve any deceit and lying.

(2) If you design the poster and illustrate it with pictures of men and women, it is haram for you, as making picture is prohibited in Islam.

(3) If the design was made by someone else while it contains unlawful picture, installing such an advertise is helping in sin which itself is a sinful act, though it is less sinful.
