Also i have two plots of worth 7 lakhs, it is an unbulid area and i dont have any plans to sell in near future, i have to repay 1.5 lakhs off 7 lakhs, which i had taken from my father-in-law. Q. my sister's husband is tailor by profession having single sewing machine on which he does his tailoring worke and make both the ends meet of his & his family consisting of his wife (my sister)& his four children that is three daughters & one son in the age group of 14 to 4 years,three childrens are school going,my sister is having 3 1/4 tolas of gold & about 250 grm.of silver ,(it is pertinent to enlighten certain past incident)at the time of marriage of my sister, gold jewellery of about six tola was given to her ,but due to financial difficulties she had to sell her ornaments to fulfill the requirment of her joint family ,it is also pertinent to bring to your kind notice that my sister is residing in a house admeasuring about 12x10 sq.ft.with wooden loft which is a tenanted house of mahada belong to her father in law & my sisters father in law's brother is also equally entitle in the said tenanted house & residing with his family & my sisters father in law's four sons are also residing in the same tenanted house,my sister's husband's financial postion is not sound & further he doesn't have his own shelter.in view of the aforesaid facts & circumstances whether i can give my zakat to my sister ,as i thought that my substantial amount of zakat will slightly improve her lot .therefore i request you kindly give me your opinion in respect of my afore said query. 1128 views
Q. My questions are related to Zaqaat :- 1. We have a house which we are not using. We are living in another house in a different city. We are not using the first house for any profit or income as well. Is zaqat payable on that house. 2. We have some amount in bank for our sister\'s marriage. It is more than years time that the amount is there and not used. Is Zaqaat payable on that amount. 3. There is some amount which is there in another bank account which is not used for more than an year, should we pay zaqaat on that amount. 4. We have a cousin whose mother passed away few years back.
