Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !
(Fatwa: 644/593/D=07/1435) It is not lawful to abort the pregnancy even before the soul is blown without severe compulsion such as (one has breastfeeding baby and it is feared that milk shall go dry due to pregnancy or the mother is unable to bear childbirth). The scholars of Fiqh have clarified it. Apparently, in the question mentioned above no such excuse is available; hence it is not allowable to abort it. As far as the matter of shame due to excess of children or daughters is concerned then it is only because we are far away from the teachings of the holy Prophet and true Islamic teachings as well as due to living among people who are fed up with religion. Otherwise Islam encourages child birth and the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) considered it cause of pride as it is mentioned in Abu Dawood etc. تزوجوا الودود الولود؛فإني مكاثر بكم الأمم. Marry women who are loving and prolific, for I shall outnumber the peoples by you. In the same way Allah’s messenger declared the girls a cause of salvation for the parents. من ابتلي من البنات بشيء’ فأحسن إليهن كن له ستراً من النار . Whoever is put to trial by daughters and he treats them generously then these daughters will act as a shield for him from Hell-Fire. Hence you should try to live along with God-fearing people and also read the books authored by them. In-shaAllah, such feelings shall come to an end and more children or daughters shall not be a cause of shame for you rather cause of pride.
