    Title: Is it permissible to put up a residence on the open terrace of a masjid.The masjid is on the ground and first floor and the donor who has built this masjid in a school compound wants to stay here whenever he comes home from abroad,so that he can monitor the school activities.He visits once in six months and stays for a few days only.

    If the open terrace of the mosque is included in the boundary of legal mosque, then staying there is not allowed. Yes, stay there is only allowed for traveller or one in itikaf (seclusion in mosque with the intention of reward)
