Title: Nasiruddin Albani

Question: I want to know that are Shaikh Nasiruddin Albani, Shaikh Ibn Baaz are reliable scholar or they belong to Ghair Muqallid? I read a book given by one Ghair Muqallid in which they have references to these Shaikhs. Can we read their books?

(Fatwa: 242/221/N=1434) (1-3) Nasiruddin Al-bani was extremist, staunch ghair muqallid as well as narrow minded towards Hanafis. He is out of Ahl Sunnah Al-Jamah and deviant person while Shaikh Ibn Baaz (رحمة الله عليه) is an authentic and reliable scholar. However, in some rulings he is resorted to strictness and due to his Hambali maslak he differs in some frua’at from Hanafis as well. So, you should not read the books of Nasiruddin Albani at all. However, you may read the books of Shaikh Ibn Baaz, but common Hanafi people should avoid reading his books as well.
