Title: Talaq

Question: In extreme anger after being insulted by my wife and in laws and they trying to hit me with table I said "talaq given, talaq given, I haven only given 2 not 3" after that I immediately said I want to take back what I said but my in laws did not allow me to talk to my wife and now they say I have given 3 divorces, saying I gave one before which I know nothing about as I have never given divorce before. I have only said those words 2 times. Please tell me is this 2 divorces, 3 divorce and can I take my wife back as I never gave divorce before. I shall be waiting for a reply soon so I may show your fatwa to my wife.

(Fatwa: 57/44/B=1434) In the question mentioned above, what is their proof with those who claim three talaqs? If they have any Shariah proof then they should produce it and if they do not have any proof then the word of husband shall be final and two rajai talaq shall take place. If the husband wants to keep her as his wife then he can take her back within iddah period. There is no need of nikah or halalah within iddah. الطَّلاَقُ مَرَّتَانِ فَإِمْسَاكٌ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ تَسْرِيحٌ بِإِحْسَانٍ [القرآن]
