Title: Spraying nasal spray into nose while fasting

Question: I am facing nose blockage problem these days and I have to use nasal spray for relief. If not, it is very inconvenient because I have to breathe through mouth the whole day. So, in such situation, if spray does not go into throat, can I use spray during fasting? It is very important as Ramadan is only 3 days left.

(Fatwa: 1160/1152/N=09/1435) The spray contains liquid substance hence the fast shall break if you use the spray in your nose while fasting. However, only qaza shall be wajib not kaffarah. "وإن ....احتقن أو استعط فى أنفه شيئاً ... قضى فى الصور كلها فقط " (در مختار مع الشامى 3:376-382 مطبوعة مكتبه زكريا ديوبند)" حتى لو تبخر ببخور فآواه إلى نفسه والشتمه ذاكراً لصومه أفطر لإمكان التحرز عنه ، وهذا مما يغفل عنه كثير من الناس ، ولا يتوهم أنه كشم الورد ومائه والمسك لوضوح الفرق بين هواء تطيب بريح المسك وشبهه وبين جوهر دخان وصل إلى جوفه بفعله ، إمداد (شامى 3:366)
