    Title: I am a doctor myself. This ramadan on the 3rd of ramazan i had severe abdominal pain. i had to take injections and saline for that. i even had vomiting and have to take a medicine by mouth though the medicine didnot had any effect. my question is that what should be the method of keeping the kada for it. should i keep one or 60 and give kaffarah also.the next say also i didnt keep roza as i had to take medicines. what about it? please guide me as this is the first time that i have missed my roza. my diagnosis came as gall bladder stone.

    If you had to take medicine in severe pain and there was no way except it then you should keep one fast with the intention of qaza, there is no kaffarah in this case. In the same way, you have to do qadha of all other fasts that you missed; there is no kaffarah in this case too. And if only injection is given during the fast, it does not nullify the fast, however it broke due to consuming medicine though this medicine had any effect or not.
