Title: Mastubation during fast

Question: 1- If someone masturbates in fast (roza of Ramadan) what would happen to fast? Is it lead to qaza roza aur kaffara'h? 2- If anyone perform zina in fast but did not ejaculates, what happen to his fast? 3- What is qaza of fardh fast and what is Kaffarah of fast? 4- Can we pay kaffarah of ghair mahram?

(Fatwa: 1048/1061/M=9/1438)

(1-2) It shall break the fast and qaza shall be incumbent not kaffarah.

(3) In this case both qaza and kaffarah shall be wajib. The kaffarah is to keep the fast of sixty consecutive days and there would be no gap in between and if one cannot keep it then he should feed sixty poor and needy men two times full stomach.

(4) If kaffarah is wajib on the woman then it is mandatory for the woman to keep the kaffarah itself there is no deputation in the fasting. If a woman misses some fasts due to the menstruation cycle, it will cause no harm, when the menses will be over she should start keeping fast immediately. But if she makes an interval then she will have to keep the fast of kaffarah afresh.
