Title: duty of son towards parents and wife

Question: who is more important for faithfull muslim parents or wife and children.what is farz over sister in law .how to keep happy both parents and wife.its very difficult to keep al family member together

(Fatwa: 734/734/M=1432) As regard to status, parents are more important. The paradise lies beneath the feet of mother and the pleasure and displeasure of Allah lies in the pleasure and displeasure of father. This is proved by hadith. As parents have rights, the wife and children also have rights. It is necessary to fulfil their rights in order to make them happy. It should be kept in mind that no one’s right are violated. Your Bhabhi (brother’s wife) has rights of husband to fulfil. Keeping all the family members together is neither fardh nor wajib; you can fulfil everyone’s right being separate.
