Question: My question is that after the nikah in masjid can we make a get-to-gather of the family members to know each other because walimah will be given after one year of the nikah so just to meet the family of the girl side can we arrange a small get-to-gather? Please explain it to me.

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 995/820/B=1433) After the nikah is done in mosque, the family members can have get-to-gather in a house in order to know each other. You can arrange for some food and drink therein. Walimah is not masnoon after one year. It is Sunnah to do on the same day or next day or the next day. After that it is not Sunnah, it is a normal feast. It will not have the reward and virtue of of Sunnah. Note: The answer is correct. However, if rukhsati is done after one year then the walimah that will be performed shall be Sunnah.
