Title: I want to know that if i am going to makkah for umrah from india, can i make niyyat and offer two rakat from bombay in pant and shirt and wen i reach jeddah i will change my clothes and wear ihram on jeddah airport. is it right to do that?

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 2028/319=TB/1429)

You should wear Ihram clothes in Mumbai, offer two rakah salah and make intention of Ihram. It is not right what you have written.

His explanation was that Nabi-e-Kareem Muhammad (Pbuh) asked aisha(radiallahu anha) to do umrah from "masjid-e-aisha" as she was sick during the time of Hajj, and her brother was not asked to do the same when he accompanied her. If this was permissible for men then Nabi-e-Kareem Muhammad (Pbuh)would have also asked him to do umrah from "masjid-e-aisha". My friend also tells me that according to Imam Abu Hanifa Rahmatulla alayh, such umrah is permissible for men but is makruh.
