Question: We are going for Umrah in Ramadan, in-shaAllah and would like to ask you two questions: (1) If we go to Saudi Arabia then it will be only 29 fast for us because Eid al-Fitr in Saudi Arabia is one day before of us, then how will we complete the 30 days of Ramadan. (2) We will be going to Mumbai by train then how do we offer the taravih salah.

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 1662/1283/B=1433) (1) Sometime the month is of 29 days and sometime of 30 days. If you complete 29 fasts there in Saudi Arabia then there is no need to complete 30th fast. But if you complete only 28 fasts there then it shall be wajib to do qaza of one fast. (2) Tarawih salah is forgiven in journey, it is sunnah. But one should not miss fardh and wajib salah in journey.
