Question: Whether taziyadari and alamdari, as per Hanafi fiqh, is allowed or not? Please elaborate.

(Fatwa: 205/203/N=02/1435) The painful shahadat (martyrdom) of Sayyidna Hussain (رضی اللہ عنہ) is undoubtedly one of the most tragic events of history which took place in the month of Muharram. But the customs of taziyadari, alamdari and other bid’ats (innovations) invented by the Shias in order to express their grief conspiratorially against the Muslims is unlawful and haram according to the all Ulama as per the Shariah.
