Title: Father Not allowing beard, We Live in Non-Muslim Area

Question: I am Muslim by birth who has grown up around a Hindu environment. My father always had Hindu friends and has never known Islam. He is influenced by the negative propaganda of the media of Islam. After going away from home to college I got hidayah from Allah and I started to follow Islam. But my father even restrains me from putting a cap on my head. My mother offers namaaz but being in such environment for 24 years she also has developed same mentality. No one in my family supports beard and they are strictly against it and also I have just 5 Muslim families around my home which are also scattered. The environment is completely hostile. The neighbours also tell things about change in me to my parents and they feel uncomfortable about it. I have got job in a company in South Alhamdulillah. Will it be fine if I keep beard after doing hijrat completely from such environment because it is very difficult here to follow deen completely. Please make dua

    Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

(Fatwa: 215/179/H=1434) It is wajib (necessary) to grow beard in this case too i.e. it is unlawful and sin to shave it and trim before one fist length. It is essential to adhere to Islam in opposite environment as well. Getting oneself firm on Shariah and strictly following the righteous deeds in such conditions will guarantee you more blessings in this world and the hereafter. Allah Almighty bestows special boons and uncountable rewards to those who follow deen in unsuitable atmosphere. May Allah grant you firmness and determination!
